The Ella pattern is a meandering vertical stripe made of lady slipper flowers and tropical philodendron leaves. Ella is my grandmother, who was a wonderful painter and green thumb who found so much joy in the Minnesota summertime and the hot Florida sun. Combining these two native plants in one design matches her creative spirit, just as I remember it.
